Our youngest just got over Roseola....What the heck, I had never even heard of it before. It started with a fever of 102.7 . She will be a year old next month and had never had an elevated fever before. She seemed fine though she was eating and drinking. She was a little fussy but I just boiled it down to teething. Well two days went by and she just didn't feel well. I took her to her doctor . The doctor looked in her throat and saw little blisters, which would explain the fussiness. The doc said no medicine was needed it would go away in a few days but before it would go a way she would develop a rash. "No big deal, a little rash"
LITTLE???? My daughter woke up the next morning absolutely covered in a red prickly rash..... It was even on her face. Not to mention she was itchy and making it worse. I called the doctor and she said still no medicine was needed but I could giver her benadryl If I wanted. I did give it to her I also put hydrocortisone 1% on it. That seemed to help alot. So all together it was 3 days of a low to high fever, and blisters in her throat. Then 3 days of the horribly ugly rash. All six days of being very sleepy. I am happy to say though today she is completely back to normal.
